I’m in love.
You know that feeling? You can’t get enough of each other and just can not stop staring and touching and kissing?
That’s how my new oven and I feel about each other. Well, minus the kissing…. it hasn’t kissed me.
As I discussed here, our microwave blew a gasket two days before Thanksgiving, forcing me to replace every appliance in my kitchen, just to show it who’s boss.
The old P.O.S. GE oven was so small… (how small was it?)… it was so small that I had to bake one cookie at a time. It was so small it made an Easy Bake Oven look large.
The funny thing? (Not my jokes, I know.) Both the old and the new are 27″, but the difference in space inside is amazing! The KitchenAid has the bottom element under the bottom of the oven, so you can’t see it. You know what that means? So easy to clean and more space inside!
Other wonderful features about my new oven:
- Even-Heat True Convection System provides even heating throughout oven – really true, even when it’s full because the fan blows the air allllll around
- EasyConvect Time and Temperature Conversion System takes the guesswork out of convection cooking – I didn’t burn anything my very first time and I’m totally clueless
- Closed-Door Convection Broil with Full and Center Settings – haven’t used this yet
- True-Broil Reflector concentrates heat for optimum broiling
- High-speed, adjustable broiling performance for large or small quantities
- Enhanced self-clean cycle includes an energy-saving quick setting & soil level/time selection – haven’t cleaned yet either… but I will
- Removable temperature probe accurately measures internal temperature of meats, poultry, and liquid-based casseroles – I haven’t probed anything yet
- Proof bread without needing a bread maker – OMG, can’t even tell you how fantastic this is if you ever make bread – you will LOVE this feature. I just baked 25 loaves of bread in no time.
- Dehydrate fruits and vegetables for fresh taste throughout the year- ummm, ick, but I will have to try it because now I’m curious.
- Certified by STAR-K KOSHER CERTIFICATION – there is an amazing feature that allows the oven to do the turning on /off if you adhere to the strict kosher rules (which I barely understand)… really great feature!
- Responsive glass-touch oven display with lockout – you can lock out the babies
- Roll-out extension rack and slide-out racks provide heft and easy loading – so so true… they glide rather than slide
- Halogen oven lights allow a more natural view of cooking progress – oh, yes, I didn’t realize that was why my baked goods looked so delicious
- Large window provides a wide, full view of all three racks – and looks so modern
- Full glass inner door provides easy clean-up and sleek look
- Blue-enameled cavity – this is a beautiful blue and makes it easier to see your delectables cooking than in the gray-interiored ovens
- Beveled edges create a soft, integrated look with surrounding cabinets
- Architect Series II styling – matchy matchy with all your other appliances if you go for this sort of look
If you are in the market for a new oven, check this one out. It’s sleek, chic and I was able to cut my bread baking time down by 2/3… no kidding. Cooks well and plenty of interior space. I don’t even need the double oven, but shhhhh, don’t tell.
