I’ve never made scones. I’m not even a huge fan of scones because when my eyes see a scone, they tell my brain delicious sweet bready product coming soon, but what I taste doesn’t match my expectation. Totally messes me up… every time.
So, do you wanna know what I made in this scone pan. Not a scone. Not even a different delicious sweet bready product.
I made individual pie slices. Key lime. But I also want to try cheesecake slices as well as other pies like fudge, pecan, pumpkin and whatever else my twisted mind can dream of. And this scone pan worked wonderfully to crank out perfectly-formed single portions of key lime pie. Not hard at all to pat graham cracker crust in there and pour in the filling. Bake and done.
I can’t wait to try this pan on pies with crust. May also be useful for pizza pockets or muffins for the guys since they seem to love transportable food that they can eat without utensils. I think I’ll try a bunch of “pockets” that I can fill with pizza, BBQ, ham and cheese, etc. and send for their school lunches. I do want to try the same products in a metal scone pan and see which works better. I’ll let you know just as soon as I can put the pie down.
Soon. I’ll stop soon.
