I’ve been on a key lime pie binge the last few weeks.  Making it, not eating it.

Previous to my Microplane purchase, I used a zester to grab little curls of lime zest, my secret ingredient – shhhhhh- and then I just chopped until it was small enough to just toss into my filling.

But then the rumors started.

Actually, I was just wondering if there was perhaps a better, faster, more efficient way to get the job done.  Because that’s how I am.  Get ‘er done, then move on to the next thing.  I really am.  When I’m done typing this, I’m going to make the kids an after school snack and then go trim the hedges.  All before 6am.

Ha.

This thing is so sharp that a quick rub with your fingertips and you will be unidentifiable for the rest of your life.  But, it does a great (oops, pun not intended) job on your zesting needs.  So much easier than the zester if you’re looking for little tiny pieces of… ummm, zest.  And, a mere twelve bucks.
