
Blueberry season is among us and we are going picking. We found a place a few hours away that charges absurdly low prices for a pint of blueberries, so we’re getting in the car early this week and taking a road trip to pick berries. And eat berries. And bring home a truckload of berries. What, you ask, are you going to do with all those berries?
Welllllll. We’re gonna eat a ton. Then we’re gonna make some homemade vanilla ice cream and eat some more. Then we’re probably gonna make some more Blueberry Crisp and then slap on some of the leftover ice cream and eat that. Then, we’ll probably freeze some. In my dreams, we’ll make some blueberry preserves and have the sweet flavor of our favorite fruit at its peak all year long. We’ll just have to see how it goes. We’ve never done it before, mostly because we eat all the berries before they get canned, but also because I’m a little chicken. I’ll let you know how it goes. Gulp.
