My son and I were in the kitchen gadget store the other day, and he saw these utensils from Constructive Eating, and so wanted to buy them.

When he was younger, he had a serious love affair with construction equipment – he knew the specific names of every digger and loader known to man. We read countless construction books and felt we had a close personal friendship with Construction Foreman Dave. When our neighbor installed a pool and the backhoe showed up to dig the hole, he watched them dig for hours from my bathroom window.  Standing in the tub.

So, although he’s 10 now, you can imagine his glee when he saw these utensils. Took us back a little.   He’s at that age where he wants to be more grown up, but I’m pretty sure that if I would have bought them, he’d be eating his man-sized portions with a bulldozer fork.  A must for anyone with a loader fetish.
