The kids are home for the summer and we’re trying to avoid the age old phrase that moms worldwide anxiously await, Mom, I’m booooooored. I actually hate that phrase. It makes my skin crawl, and usually, I give the kids something to do so they won’t be so bored. Like emptying the dishwasher or mowing the grass. They have learned not to utter that fateful phrase, but sometimes they do forget.
I just ordered this book with a couple of ulterior motives. I’m sneaky like that. First, cooking reinforces math skills. If you don’t believe that, just ask your kids to bake a double batch of their favorite cookies. You will see math coming out their ears. My second sneaky motive it to keep the guys busy while having them make their own lunch. Really. Who wouldn’t want to make such treats as Sneech Salad or Pink Yink Ink Drink. Of course, there is a recipe for Green Eggs and Ham, but it uses cilantro and tomatillos to produce that famous color, rather than FD&C blue and yellow.
Each recipe is accompanied by the original verse that inspired it, and the pages are laminated to protect against getting splattered by your child’s culinary creations. These very child-friendly recipes are sure to be a hit with your sneeches and the book is rated very highly by parents. Can’t wait for ours to arrive.
